! Introduction

Information on CMAT Exam

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national level entrance test led by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) consistently as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The CMAT is a three-hour computer based online test which is conducted in a session to assess the applicant's ability across various segments like Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. CMAT 2019 permits B-schools to screen candidates that best suit their prerequisites. AICTE will conduct CMAT 2019 in January for admission to the colleges that offer MBA and for those which run postgraduate diploma in management programs.

This test encourages Institutions to choose appropriate graduate possibility for affirmation in all Management programs. The CMAT score is acknowledged by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges.

CMAT 2019 Registration is open from October to December 2018.

AICTE has been conducting CMAT two times in a year during the months of September and February. AICTE has now decided to hold only one CMAT Online Test from the Academic Year 2017 onwards.

For the Academic Year 2019, the CMAT Test will be in January 2019.

! Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be a citizen of India.
  • Graduates in any discipline can apply for CMAT exam.
  • Final year students of Graduate Courses (10+2+3) whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for 2019-20 can also apply for CMAT online exam.

CMAT Exam Registration and Fees

Pre-essentials before beginning Registration for CMAT-2019: We recommend you to prepare before beginning the CMAT registration process:

  • A Computer with good Internet connectivity so that there is no breakage of Internet amid registration.
  • Qualification details as candidates need to enter them while enlisting for CMAT exam.
  • Upload scanned photo while registering, consequently keep prepared a scanned clear photo of themselves taken on a white background. The size of this photo should be 140 x 160 (≤ 60Kb).
  • Similarly, upload scanned signature while registering, hence keep ready scanned clear signature done on a white background. The size of this signature file should be 60 x 90 (≤ 30Kb).
  • A Valid e-mail id which the candidates will be using at least for the next 6 months. All communication will be done on this e-mail id which candidates will enter while registering for CMAT exam.
  • A Valid mobile number as all information via SMS will be sent to this number.
  • A valid Credit / Debit card in case candidates want to pay ONLINE.
  • A Printer connected to system as they will have to PRINT 3 copies of CHALLAN in case they are planning to pay by CASH at the bank.

  • Step-1: Read Instructions and Self Registration
  • Step-2: Payment Process
  • Step-3: Now that the candidates are done with the payment, they need to fill the remaining part of the form.

CMAT Exam Pattern 2019: Key Highlights

1.   Candidates who are in the final year of the Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3) Programmes or who have appeared in the final year examination from a recognized institution or university can appear in the test.

2.    Candidates can move back and forth between the 4 sections and answer in any order of their choice.

3.    There is no negative marking for leaving a question unanswered.

4.   At the CMAT exam centre, each candidate will be given a desk with a computer terminal along with a scratch paper for rough calculations.

5.   Candidates cannot do the rough work on any other paper or sheet apart from the scratch paper. Except the CMAT 2019 admit card nothing is allowed inside the CMAT exam room.

6.   Candidates must leave the scratch paper at the desk once they are done with the CMAT exam and leave the centre.

7.    Candidates are not allowed to take any breaks during the test.

8.    The overall difficulty level of the CMAT 2019 exam is not very high. However sometimes the choices are close enough and this makes the questions tricky. Such questions can confuse students.


! Selection Procedure

CMAT Selection Procedure 2019: Details CMAT 2019 Written Exam

The first step is the CMAT 2019 written exam, which the candidates write in January 2019: 1. The paper consists of 4 sections - Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness 2. Each section has 25 questions, 4 marks each. 3. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. 4. There is negative marking of one mark for each incorrect answer. No mark is deducted for unanswered questions. 5. The final CMAT 2019 scorecard has an overall score out of 400 and the sectional scores are out of 100.

CMAT 2019 Result Announcement

After the CMAT 2019 exam, the CMAT 2019 result will be announced by the mid of February 2019. The candidates who qualify the CMAT 2019 cutoff are shortlisted for further rounds -

i. Group Discussion (GD) ii. Personal Interaction (PI) iii. Writing Ability Test (WAT)
GD, PI and WAT Rounds The shortlisted candidates appear for GD; PI and WAT rounds individually in the respective AICTE approved CMAT score 2019 accepting colleges. The selection process is unique to each college and may conduct all or any number of rounds. Please keep the following things in mind:

i. The candidates must keep the CMAT 2019 Admit Card and CMAT 2019 scorecard for the GD; PI and WAT rounds. ii. The candidates must attend all components/ tests of selection process of CMAT 2019 exam in order to qualify for the CMAT final merit list 2019.

Group Discussion:

1. Groups are made of 7-10 individuals. Each group is given a topic, which range from current affairs in the field of politics, economics, sports or socially relevant topics. 2. Candidates is judged on various skills such as – communication, leadership, negotiation, managerial and leadership.

Writing Ability Test:

1. The CMAT selection process in certain colleges also has a WAT round where candidates are given a topic on current affairs. 2. Candidates are judged on their written and grammar skills.

Personal Interview:

1. A panel of 3-4 people interviews the candidates individually. This round is essentially to know the candidates personally, interact with them, and understand their aspirations. 2. Candidates are judged on their communication skills and past academic performance.

Final Merit List Announcement

The last stage of the CMAT selection procedure 2019 will be the announcement of the CMAT 2019 final merit list based on the overall performance of the candidate in each of the above rounds and past academic records.
