! Introduction

Every year State Bank of India conducts a recruitment process for hiring eligible candidates for the post of Probationary Officers. The notification for FY 2021-22 will be released soon on the official website @sbi.co.in. The selection process will be conducted through 3 stages namely Prelims, Mains, and Interview. The candidates have to qualify for all three stages to be selected as a PO in SBI branches. SBI is a prestigious bank providing handsome salary and job security to its employees which is one of the reason lakhs of candidates rush for these recruitments. ! Eligibility Criteria

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SBI PO 2021

The educational qualifications, age limit, and nationality of the candidates are considered in the eligibility criteria of SBI PO Recruitment 2021 for the post of probationary officers. The candidates who applied for the SBI probationary officers post should be a citizen of India. Check out more details about the eligibility criteria below.

Educational Qualification: (AS ON 01.01.2021) 

Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final year/ Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31.08.2020.

Age Limit (As on 01.04.2021)

The candidate’s age should not be below 21 and not more than 30 years as on 01. 04. 2020 which means he/she must not be born before 01.04.1999 and not after 02.04.1989 . Check out the age relaxation for various categories in the table below.

! Changes in SBI PO 2021

Changes in SBI PO 2021

  • In SBI PO 2017 examination state bank has removed the sectional cut off from phase II(Mains) Examination.
  • This Year, Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the Main Examination.Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approximately) of the category wise vacancies will be shortlisted for the Group Exercise & Interview from the top of the merit list subject to a candidate scoring minimum qualifying score in aggregate.
  • The Cut Off for SBI PO Examination is common for all the states and not released separately.

! Exam Pattern

SBI PO 2021 Exam Pattern:

SBI selection process for the Probationary officers exam 2021 consists of 3 stages, which are:

1.Phase I - Prelims Exam

2. Phase II - Mains Exam

3.Phase III - Group Exercises (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)

Phase I – Prelims Exam:

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Test for 100 marks will be conducted online. The test will have of 3 Sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

SBI PO 2021 Mains Exam Pattern

Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after completion of the Objective Test.

Descriptive Test:

The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with two questions for 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).

*Note:Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main examination)

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

Phase – III: Group Exercises (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)

Candidates qualifying for GE & Interview under 'OBC' category would be required to submit OBC certificate containing the 'Non Creamy layer' clause. Candidates not submitting the OBC certificate containing the 'Non Creamy layer' clause and requesting to be interviewed under General category will not be entertained.

Final Selection

The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for preparing the final merit list for selection. Only the marks obtained in Mains Examination (Phase-II), both in Objective Test and Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in GE & Interview (Phase-III) for preparing the final merit list. The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately.

Marks secured by the candidates in the Mains Examination (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Exercises & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of Mains Examination and Group Exercises & Interview out of 100. The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category

How to apply for SBI PO 2021

  • Candidates will be required to register themselves online through Bank's website https://bank.sbi/careers or https://www.sbi.co.in/careers - Recruitment of PO 2021
  • Candidates should have valid email ID and mobile no.which should be kept active till the declaration of results. It will help him/her in getting call letter/advices etc. by email/SMS.
  • Submit the Application Form.
  • The payment can be made by using debit card/credit card/Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen. Transaction charges for online payment, if any, will be borne by the candidates.
  • On successful completion of the transaction, e-receipt and application form with fee details will be generated; which may be printed for record.
  • Take out the Print Out of the Application Form for future reference.

! Admit Card

Admit Card for For SBI PO 2021

SBI PO preliminary examination is scheduled to be held tentatively in the month of Nov 2021. According to the notification examination call letter can be downloaded tentatively from Sep 18, 2021.Similarly, the date for download of call letter for SBI PO mains examination is tentatively from 20th Sep 2021. The SBI PO mains exam will be tentatively held on 04-Nov-2021.

How to Download Admit Card

  • Go to sbi.co.in and click on careers section.
  • Select download SBI PO call letter for preliminary examination
  • Then enter your Registration Number/Roll Number and Date of Birth/Password
  • Finally click on the submit button, your SBI PO admit card 2021 will generated and take a print.
  • The SBI PO admit card is issued and available 10 days prior to the examination. It will be available in the official website of the bank. Candidates are required to download the admit card and get a printed copy of the same.
